Olivaro Supplement Facts: Reading the Bottle Label

Quick answer

Each 1 mL serving of Olivaro has 0.7 mcg of chromium and a 200 mg proprietary blend.

The bottle holds 30 servings. Chromium is 2% DV, and the blend of 22 ingredients shows no single amounts. Other ingredients include glycerin, stevia and xylitol.

See each one on the Olivaro ingredients page.

Serving size

How big is an Olivaro serving, and how long does a bottle last?

One serving is 1 mL, one full dropper. The bottle holds 30 servings, so it lasts 30 days at 1 dropper and 15 days at 2.

Olivaro serving math, from the Supplement Facts panel.
Serving size1 mL (1 dropper)
Servings per container30
Days per bottle at 1 dropper30
Days per bottle at 2 droppers15

The 15-day figure is easy to miss. If you plan on 2 droppers, a 2-bottle order covers 30 days, not 60.

  7. Front panel

Olivaro under an Israeli flag. 'Balanced Blood Sugar Advanced Support', with an asterisk that refers to the FDA statement.

  8. Icon wording

Fasting Blood Sugar Health Support, Clean Ingredients, Balanced Form System. Each has an asterisk: structure-function wording, not proof.

  13. Other ingredients

Glycerin, water, organic lemon extract, stevia (Reb A), xylitol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid, natural flavors.

  14. FDA statement

Chromium

What does 2% DV of chromium mean?

It means one dropper gives 2% of the 35 mcg Daily Value for chromium. That is 0.7 mcg, or 1.4 mcg at 2 droppers (NIH ODS, Chromium).

Blood sugar trials mostly used 200-1,000 mcg a day. Olivaro's dose is roughly 140 to 1,400 times smaller. Even at those high doses, results were mixed and small. Chromium has its own page: chromium in Olivaro.

Proprietary blend

Why doesn't the label show 22 of the amounts?

Federal rules allow a "proprietary blend." The label must show the blend's total weight and list its ingredients from most to least by weight (21 CFR 101.36 (eCFR)).

  • You can see that maca weighs the most and L-carnitine the least.
  • You cannot see whether gymnema is 30 mg or 3 mg.
  • The dagger (†) means no Daily Value exists for these ingredients.

The rule is legal and common. It still makes it hard to compare Olivaro with research doses. Our ingredient table lines up all 23 against the studies.

Other ingredients

What are Olivaro's other ingredients, and is xylitol safe?

The non-active list reads: Glycerin, Water, Organic Lemon Extract, Stevia Extract 97% (Reb A), Xylitol, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, and Natural Flavors. They make the liquid, sweeten it and keep it fresh.

Xylitol is fine for people at this level, but it is dangerous to dogs. In dogs it can cause a fast, severe blood sugar drop within an hour (FDA, Paws Off Xylitol). Keep the bottle where pets cannot reach it, and call a vet right away if a dog chews it.

  • The stevia is high-purity Reb A, which FDA has not questioned as a sweetener (FDA, Aspartame and Other Sweeteners).
  • Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are preservatives.
  • No sugar is listed.
  • The label makes no vegan, gluten-free or allergen-free claim, so we make none either.

Fine print

What do the asterisks and the FDA statement mean?

Each asterisk points to a standard line: the statements were not evaluated by FDA, and the product is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Every supplement making a health-type claim must print it.

The asterisks sit on "Balanced Blood Sugar Advanced Support", "Fasting Blood Sugar Health Support", "Clean Ingredients" and "Balanced Form System". They are claim words, not test results.

FDA registered facility is not FDA approval

The label says Olivaro was made in an FDA registered facility. Registration means the plant is on file with FDA. FDA does not approve dietary supplements before they are sold (FDA, Using Dietary Supplements).

The caution line asks anyone under 18, pregnant or nursing, or with a known medical condition to consult a physician. Never change a diabetes medicine without talking to your doctor first.

Bottom line

Is the Olivaro label honest?

Our read

The label follows the standard format and names every ingredient. Its weak spots are the hidden blend amounts, a token chromium dose and claim icons with no named certifier. Read the panel, not the front.

FAQ

Olivaro label questions

What is the serving size of Olivaro?

One serving of Olivaro is 1 mL, which is one full dropper. The bottle holds 30 servings. The label says to take 1 or 2 droppers daily, so a bottle lasts 30 days at 1 dropper or 15 days at 2.

Does the FDA approve Olivaro before it is sold?

No. Supplements do not go through FDA review or approval before they reach shelves. The label says Olivaro was made in an FDA registered facility, which means the plant is registered, not that the product was reviewed or approved for safety or results.

How much chromium is in one dropper of Olivaro?

One dropper holds 0.7 mcg of chromium as chromium picolinate, which is 2% of the Daily Value. Two droppers give 1.4 mcg. Blood sugar studies used 200-1,000 mcg a day, so the Olivaro amount is far smaller.

Does Olivaro have sugar?

No sugar is listed on the label. Olivaro is sweetened with stevia extract (Reb A) and xylitol, with lemon extract and natural flavors. If you count carbohydrates closely, ask the order desk at +1 (855) 889-3137 about full nutrition details.

Is Olivaro safe around dogs?

Keep it away from dogs. The other ingredients include xylitol, which can cause a dangerous drop in a dog's blood sugar. If your dog chews the bottle or licks spilled drops, call your vet or an animal poison control line right away.

What does the dagger symbol on the Olivaro label mean?

The dagger next to the 200 mg proprietary blend means a Daily Value has not been established for those ingredients. It is standard on supplement labels and says nothing about safety or quality. It simply means there is no official daily target.
